Albania will participate in the 61st Venice Art Biennale. Artist Genti Korini will present the project “A Place in the Sun.” Minister Blendi Gonxhja announced the selection on social media. The jury chose Korini among 17 applicants.

The project explores how memory and ideology shape identity. It links Albanian history with Soviet influences. Korini works with curator Małgorzata Ludwisiak. The project creates a visual and intellectual dialogue with Polish experimental theater.

Gonxhja wished Korini success. He said, “We look forward to Albania’s pavilion in Venice next May.” Korini blends past and present, fiction and reality. He examines ideology through images and forms.
