“I Am a Muslim”: Ben Blushi Launches New Book

Ben Blushi presented his new book, I Am a Muslim, last night. The event gathered book lovers, friends, and fans of the author.

The novel, published by Onufri, offers an ironic and philosophical look at the clash between religion and the secular state in modern Albania. The story unfolds on Rruga e Kavajës, where a writer faces the slow Islamization of society and his private life, including his second wife, who becomes a devout believer.

After a solitary journey to Mecca and facing threats from Islamists, the writer converts to Islam. The novel becomes a metaphor for a person seeking faith after losing trust in society.

Blushi attended the launch panel with publisher Bujar Hudhri, journalist Roland Qafoku, and writer Rudolf Marku. He shared his joy at presenting the novel to many friends and supporters.

“They came to support me and show that literature still has devoted fans,” Blushi said.

I Am a Muslim is Blushi’s twelfth publication. He previously achieved success with Living on the Island, Otello, the Arab of Vlora, The Candidate, and The Plot.
