New U.S.-backed cyber-defense technology delivered to AKSK

The National Authority for Cybersecurity (AKSK) received new advanced network-protection equipment from the U.S. Embassy, as Acting Deputy Chief of Mission Kathryn Hammond formally handed over the technology. The delivery reflects the U.S. government’s strong and ongoing support for boosting Albania’s cyber-defense capacities.

Earlier last month, U.S. officials completed the transfer of the equipment, marking a significant step forward for Albania’s national cybersecurity. The upgrade arrives at a critical time, as digital threats continue to increase in both frequency and sophistication.

Meanwhile, the U.S. Embassy emphasized the strategic importance of this cooperation. In a social-media statement, the Embassy said that cybersecurity remains a core element of national security and essential to strengthening joint defenses against malicious cyberattacks.

Furthermore, the Embassy reaffirmed Washington’s commitment:
“The United States is pleased to support Albania in strengthening its cyber defenses, advancing regional security and the security of NATO,” the post stated.

Overall, the delivery underscores a deepening partnership that aims to enhance Albania’s resilience against evolving cyber threats.
