TIRANA, December 12 – Prime Minister Edi Rama said today that the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) ranks Albania first in the region for employment services.

During a meeting with young people hired through employment-promotion programmes, he said this shows that Albania provides opportunities for all young people who want to work and build a professional path.

He noted that the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development report highlights the work carried out over the years to develop an employment-services scheme that delivers encouraging results.

Rama stated that seven programmes now operate to promote employment. They cover all categories, from professional practice to on-the-job training, from self-employment to social reintegration.

Rama added that in the past five years alone, employment offices and these services have helped 42,000 young people enter the labour market.
