State minister Pirdeni said “Transparent Albania” would serve as a single access portal for public documents

TIRANA, December 16 – Minister of State for Public Administration and Anti-Corruption Adea Pirdeni said the new transparency portal, Transparent Albania, aimed to improve public access to quality and reliable information.
Pirdeni spoke during a joint roundtable with public authorities, European partners, civil society, and media organizations. She said the portal reflected a new approach to transparency in governance.
She explained that the platform addressed a long-standing problem. She said public information often existed but remained fragmented and difficult to access.
According to Pirdeni, Transparent Albania would function as a single gateway. The portal would include budget transparency data and all transparency programs required under the law on the right to information.
In addition, she said the platform would allow citizens to request documents and follow public decision-making processes. She noted that, for the first time, citizens could contact information coordinators in each institution through a single system and track their information requests.
Meanwhile, Pirdeni said the system would enable performance monitoring. She said authorities could assess how ministries responded to information requests and whether they met legal deadlines and standards.
She also said the government planned further integration. According to Pirdeni, next year the portal would connect to a new section on the Prime Minister’s Office website.
She said that section would publish updated information on negotiations with the European Union. She added that the move would strengthen transparency and public oversight of the negotiation process.
