TIRANA, January 3 – President Bajram Begaj extended wishes of success to Cyprus for its Presidency of the European Union in the first half of 2026.

He described the Cypriot presidency as beginning at an important moment for Europe and the wider world.

Begaj expressed confidence that Cyprus would focus on the European integration process of Western Balkan countries.

He said Albania aimed to begin closing the first chapters of accession negotiations during the Cypriot Presidency of the European Union.
