TIRANA, January 7 – Minister of Defense Pirro Vengu praised the Armed Forces for handling heavy rainfall in several areas.

He said the Gërhot Unit worked on the ground until late in the evening in Gjirokastër. They faced strong rainflows to protect citizens.

Meanwhile, Vengu wrote on Facebook that more than 100 personnel, dozens of vehicles, and high-capacity pumps operated in Lezha, Durrës, and Gjirokastër. They also responded wherever authorities needed support.

He added that the unit prepared for another day on the front line. Their goal was to guarantee residents’ safety and manage any emergencies.
