International Cultural Weeks Conclude with Diverse Artistic Events in Albania

For seven months, Tirana and other cities in Albania hosted numerous cultural activities as part of the International Cultural Weeks, organized by the Ministry of Economy, Culture, and Innovation.

The program, which began with the European Cultural Week, included countries such as Brazil and Mexico for the first time. This year’s edition involved 20 countries and will end with a series of events in collaboration with Kosovo, running from November 21 to 30 across Tirana, Durrës, and Shkodër.

Key events include:

  • November 22: An exhibition on artificial intelligence at the Aleksandër Moisiu Theatre and the Children’s Cultural Center in Durrës, alongside a concert by soprano Besa Llugiqi and pianist Misbah Kaqamak at the National Opera and Ballet Theatre in Tirana.

  • November 23: The “I Have You in My Mind” project addressing mental health awareness at the Pyramid of Tirana, followed by a concert and the first Kosovar opera “The Girl from Kaçanik” in Tirana.

  • November 25: Celebrating Albania’s liberation with a series of cultural events, including a traditional fashion show and concerts by artists from Albania and Kosovo.

  • November 26-30: Exhibitions honoring Shtjefën Gjeçovi and other cultural performances, such as the Shkodra Elektronike music project, a photography exhibition, and a concert series on Albania’s National Liberation War.

The final event, the Tirana Art Weekend from November 29 to December 2, will bring together key players in Albania’s independent art scene.

The International Cultural Weeks emphasized inclusion, creativity, and cultural exchange, concluding a successful third edition that fostered global connections and addressed shared challenges through art and innovation.
