President Bajram Begaj today received Andreas Schieder, the European Parliament’s rapporteur for Albania. The meeting took place ahead of the draft report presentation in the Foreign Affairs Committee.

Begaj expressed gratitude for the European Parliament’s ongoing support for Albania’s EU accession process. He called it essential for maintaining credibility and momentum in the country’s integration efforts.

During the meeting, the President shared his views on current developments, reform progress, and concrete steps toward EU membership.

Begaj also expressed confidence that the upcoming 2025 progress report resolution will objectively reflect Albania’s achievements and remaining challenges. He reaffirmed the country’s unwavering commitment to European values, the rule of law, and democracy.
