Socialist Party parliamentary group chair Taulant Balla met today at the Assembly with the European Parliament’s Rapporteur for Albania, Andreas Schieder.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed Albania’s EU integration process.
They also reviewed the preparation of the country’s annual report.
After approval by the European Parliament’s Committee on Foreign Affairs (AFET), the report will move to a plenary vote.

Meanwhile, Rapporteur Andreas Schieder continues to draft the annual report on Albania.
In a recent debate at the European Parliament, he stated that Albania stands out as the “top favorite” among candidate countries for EU membership.

Furthermore, the meeting reinforced ongoing institutional dialogue.
Albanian authorities and EU representatives continue to work together to advance the integration process.
