Record support planned for agriculture in 2026

TIRANA, February 3 – The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Andis Salla, met today with farmers from Dibra, Klos, Mati, and Bulqizë to prepare the 2026 National Support Scheme.
Farmers shared their suggestions and specific needs. Authorities will direct financial support to the sectors with the highest demand.
Minister Salla said 2026 will bring record support for agriculture. He added that farmers will have full access to the support. However, they must commit, submit applications, and cooperate in groups to formalize the sector.
He said the support will include direct subsidies, grant schemes, state guarantees up to 70 percent, and VAT compensation for all products sold from January 1, 2026, onward.
Minister Salla stressed that hearings with farmers help identify challenges and opportunities. This ensures an efficient and comprehensive support scheme.
Earlier, Minister Salla and Democratic
Party deputy Ogerta Manastirliu met farmers in Baldushk, Tirana County. They discussed how to use financial support effectively.
The minister noted that the 2026 National Support Scheme relies on farmers’ direct input. He said the goal is to increase the competitiveness of “Made in Albania” products and build a sustainable agriculture sector. This approach aligns with the long-term “Agriculture 2030” vision.
