Parliament Speaker Niko Peleshi met today in Washington with U.S. Congressman Keith Self.Self chairs the Europe Subcommittee of the House Foreign Affairs Committee.

The meeting took place at the U.S. Congress. Both sides praised the strong and unwavering U.S. support for Albania. They highlighted the Albania–U.S. Strategic Partnership as a key pillar of bilateral ties.

Peleshi and Self discussed U.S. support for democratic reforms. They also addressed joint contributions to peace and security in the region and beyond. They described these efforts as essential to cooperation between the two countries.

Socialist Party MPs Damian Gjiknuri and Ilir Pendavinji attended the meeting. Democratic Party parliamentary group leader Gazment Bardhi also attended.
Republican Party leader Fatmir Mediu and DP MP Belind Këlliçi were present as well.
