Rama Visits Genazzano Basilica: Beside the Madonna of Albania Stands Our National Flag

Prime Minister Edi Rama visited the Basilica of “Our Lady of Good Counsel” in Genazzano today. He is on an official visit to the Vatican at the invitation of the Holy See.
He went with his wife Linda Rama, son Zaho, and his delegation. They saw the statue of Our Lady of Good Counsel. The statue came from the Church of Shkodër in 1467.
Rama said no Albanian leader had visited here before. “Beside the Madonna of Albania stands our national flag,” he said. “Almost all Popes have prayed here.” He shared photos from the visit.
Rama will tour the Apostolic Palace. He will meet officials in the “San Damaso” courtyard. He will have an audience with Pope Leo XIV in the Papal Library.
He will also visit St. Peter’s Basilica, the Stanza delle Lacrime, Cappella Paolina, Sala Reggia, the Sistine Chapel, and St. John Paul II’s altar. The visit ends at Pope Francis’ tomb in Santa Maria Maggiore. He will meet Cardinal Pietro Parolin, the Vatican Secretary of State.
