The Minister of Economy, Culture, and Innovation, Blendi Gonxhja, announced that this time, the meeting focused on the book sector, which intersects with many of the country’s arts and artistic practices.

The event, held in the French Hall of the “Sotir Kolea” Center, brought together key figures in Albania’s book industry, including publishers, authors, translators, and booksellers.

Most of Albania’s publishers attended, sharing their perspectives on the sector’s challenges, while authors and translators also discussed their respective concerns and suggestions in these challenging times for the industry.

The discussion centered on topics such as the promotion of contemporary Albanian literature, government support options, funding programs, and copyright issues.

Additionally, the meeting addressed the new draft law on books, gathering feedback from professionals.

Participants shared their experiences and concerns, contributing to the dialogue on shaping policies that will support the growth and development of Albania’s book industry.
