The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Albania and the National Civil Protection Agency signed a Memorandum of Understanding today to strengthen civil protection in the country. The agreement deepens and formalizes their ongoing cooperation.

The General Director of the National Civil Protection Agency, Haki Çako, said that the agreement aims to build a stronger, better-coordinated, and more prepared system for disaster prevention, preparedness, and response. It focuses on technical assistance, joint projects, and alignment with European Union standards.

Çako added that the memorandum also helps strengthen institutional and operational capacities at both central and local levels. Moreover, it supports key reforms in Albania’s process of European integration.
