Renowned Bulgarian Author Zdravka Evtimova Visits Albania for Bulgarian Culture Day

Award-winning Bulgarian author Zdravka Evtimova, whose work has been translated into over 30 languages, is in Albania to engage with writers and artists on Bulgarian Culture Day. Evtimova commended Albanians for their modesty, resilience, and deep respect for their language.
“I believe our two countries share many similarities—our fighting spirit and love for language. Albanian is unique, one of the oldest languages, and it is the responsibility of institutions to preserve and protect it,” Evtimova remarked.
Albanian writer and translator Milena Selimi announced that Evtimova’s works would soon be available in Albanian. “We are currently translating several books by Albanian authors into Bulgarian. It is time we invite one another to learn from each other,” Selimi stated.
Evtimova, who often writes while traveling, describes herself as a “train writer,” as much of her work is crafted on her commutes between Pernik, where she lives, and Sofia, where she works.
