VanHorn: Turning obstacles into opportunities for Albania’s young entrepreneurs

Chargé d’Affaires of the United States, Nancy VanHorn, delivered remarks at the launch of the Youth, Entrepreneurship and Innovation Committee.
The committee was founded this year, marking the 250th anniversary of the United States, a nation built by innovators and entrepreneurs unafraid to forge new paths. Moreover, it aims to connect young Albanian entrepreneurs with American business expertise.
At the start of her address, VanHorn noted, “President Donald Trump built his career on a simple principle: obstacles are challenges to overcome. If there’s a concrete wall in front of you, go through it, go over it, or go around it. Similarly, this committee turns obstacles into opportunities. We achieve this through ingenuity, integrity, and an indomitable spirit.”
She added, “Ideas need opportunities. Therefore, this committee connects emerging entrepreneurs with experienced business leaders.”
Looking at the audience, VanHorn continued, “I see many of them here tonight in Albania. The committee will share expertise, open doors to the American market, and help young Albanians succeed at home. In addition, the American Corner is the perfect place for this launch. For 22 years, it has served as a hub of American culture and innovation — from artificial intelligence to cybersecurity and game design.”
VanHorn emphasized that the committee creates a direct link with business leaders who follow the American way of doing business. “When competition is fair and success is based on merit, entrepreneurs thrive. They build lasting companies. Finally, I thank the American Chamber of Commerce in Albania for its vision and leadership. This committee will foster collaboration with Albania’s next generation of leaders.”
She concluded by encouraging youth to make the committee a catalyst for Albania’s economic future.
