The “Migjeni” Theatre has been announced as the winner at the 64th edition of the MESS Festival, held in Sarajevo, which ranks among the prestigious A-category festivals.

Upon receiving the news, the Mayor of Shkodër, Benet Beci, expressed his pride in this accomplishment and extended his gratitude to the entire cast of the performance.

The media award “Oslobodenje” was presented to the play “Vizita,” directed by Davide Iodice at the “Migjeni” Theatre. This marks Albania’s first participation in the MESS Festival.

“This is a historic moment for all of us,” the “Migjeni” Theatre stated on its online platform.

“Vizita” had its world premiere a year ago at the “Migjeni” Theatre in Shkodër and later at ArTurbina in Tirana. The play is based on H.G. Wells’ masterpiece “The Wonderful Visit” and was staged by the renowned contemporary director Davide Iodice.

The work was translated into Albanian by Zija Vukaj. “Vizita” is a co-production of the Sardinian Theatre and the “Migjeni” Theatre, supported by the Italian Institute of Culture in Tirana.
