The 26th edition of the International Theater Festival presents a fresh approach, focusing on alternative theater that transcends traditional stages and relocates to various sites throughout the city of Elbasan. This initiative aims to engage a broader audience.

Adonis Filipi, the Director of the Theater Festival, stated in a media interview that over the years, the International Theater Festival has significantly contributed to enhancing Albania’s image worldwide, boosting the artistic life in the city, and promoting the civic and artistic values of Elbasan.

“It is important to emphasize the dimension of this festival. This festival does not only focus on the present but also serves the future perspective. It is one of those festivals that promotes Albanian artistic and cultural values globally. In 26 years, we have conveyed the message that we, as Albanians, know how to build traditions and values. However, this festival requires more support from central and local authorities to continue its journey,” he said.

The 26th edition of this festival features theater troupes from Greece, France, Bulgaria, Serbia, North Macedonia, and more.
