“Green Cloaked Mountains” Premiered in a Digitized Format at State Archive

On the screen of the “Auditorium” of the General Directorate of Archives, the film “Green Cloaked Mountains” was shown for the first time in a digitized 4K format.
The film is directed by Dhimitër Anagnosti and was produced in 1971. Its screening was made possible through the ongoing collaboration between the Directorate of Archives and the Central State Film Archive (AQSHF).
In this nationwide year of the 80th anniversary of Liberation, the Directorate of Archives aims to familiarize the youth with the country’s past while maintaining clarity regarding the ideological burden of Albanian cinematography during the communist regime. The archives seek to encourage young people to learn about the country’s history through cinema.
This joint project envisions the screening of 10 films that recount the epic of the National Liberation Anti-Fascist War. Earlier, the General Director of the Archives, Ardit Bido, stated that the message they wish to convey is very important: when the homeland is in danger, young people must stand in its defense. This occurred 80 years ago when a group of young men and women defended their homeland when freedom was at risk, and thanks to them, we now have an independent country that can be led by the Albanians themselves.
