TIRANA, March 13 – Elbasan opened its doors to the spring festival, which runs until 14 March.

The celebration started on 9 March, turning the city into a hub of cultural and artistic activities. Every evening, streets, squares, and public spaces filled with music, performances, and festive events.

Families visited promenades, while children played in dedicated areas. Young people attended concerts and art activities that continued late into the night.

Local markets offered traditional and artisanal products. Visitors sampled traditional sweets, including ballokume, prepared according to historic Elbasan recipes.

The mayor of Elbasan, Gledian Llatja, said the city hosts many events throughout the week. Leading Albanian singers performed on city stages. He added that hotels in Elbasan, including in Gjinar and Llixha, were fully booked, attracting visitors from across the country.

The festival highlighted Elbasan’s culture and traditions. Musical groups and performers brought different generations together through music and dance.

The municipality organized the program to make the city a festive destination. The initiative also promoted tourism and preserved the tradition of the Day of Summer.

As the festival continues, Elbasan prepares to welcome more visitors on 14 March for the city’s signature spring celebration.
