Tirana celebrates Summer Day with dozens of activities

TIRANA, March 14 – Tirana marked Summer Days with a festive atmosphere across the city. Dozens of cultural, artistic, and entertainment events are taking place in several areas.
Thousands of citizens and visitors gathered in squares and streets from early morning. Municipality of Tirana organized around 50 activities for all age groups.
At the beginning of Martyrs of the Nation Boulevard, organizers installed a large screen to present activities focused on Albanian traditions, including folk music and costumes. Meanwhile, fair stands along the boulevard and other areas offer handicrafts and traditional food.
The program includes concerts, DJ performances, sports activities, and entertainment spaces for families and children. In the evening, electronic music events will take place in the ‘Blloku’ area.
Authorities restricted vehicle circulation on several main roads due to the celebrations. The plan, announced by the Albanian State Police and the Municipality of Tirana, limits traffic along Martyrs of the Nation Boulevard from the former Hotel Dajti to the start of Mother Teresa Square.
Summer Day is one of Albania’s best-known traditional festivals. Albanians celebrate it every year on March 14 to mark the arrival of spring and the renewal of nature.
