In a remarkable event, the “Andon Zako Çajupi” theater troupe from Korçë is set to perform in the United States with Leka Bungo’s play “Bride for Papers”. This marks the first instance of a complete Albanian theater ensemble presenting a performance for the diaspora in America.

Zamira Kita, the director of the “Andon Zako Çajupi” theater, emphasized that the play addresses the pressing issue of illegal immigration. “It is a great pleasure that the Korçë theater is visiting America for the first time, and that a full ensemble from Albania is making its debut there. We purposefully selected “Bride for Papers”, because it tackles a problem related to illegal immigration and the negative phenomena that we aim to combat, while also infusing humor into these themes. I believe we will also have opportunities to engage with our fellow compatriots there,” stated Kita.

The performances are scheduled for October 11, 12, and 13 in New York, on October 18 in Uster, and on October 19 in Boston. Additionally, it is anticipated that “Nuse vetëm për letra” will be showcased in Kenner on October 20.
