Unique views of the Osum canyons in Skrapar

TIRANA, March 18 – The Osum canyons in Skrapar continue to attract tourists who enjoy water sports such as rafting. Known as “Albania’s Colorado,” the canyons impress with dramatic cliffs and the river flowing through them.
Prime Minister Edi Rama shared unique images of the Osum canyons on social media, highlighting rafting as a top attraction for visitors of all ages. The canyon stretches 13 kilometers and features cliffs up to 120 meters high. Rafters navigate waterfalls and natural rock formations named “the eye,” “devil’s gate,” “the crocodile,” and “the cathedral.”
The canyons provide an extraordinary experience, drawing tourists worldwide to explore the area’s natural beauty. The Osum river itself spans 161 kilometers, but the Skrapar canyon stands out for its length and average height, making it Albania’s largest canyon.
At its lower end near Vau i Grepckës, the river forms a delta where locals enjoy swimming and sunbathing in summer. The Osum canyons combine adventure, natural art, and scenic landscapes, positioning Skrapar as a key destination for outdoor tourism in Albania.
