Rozafa Castle in Shkodër Archaeological Park drew the most visitors in Albania during January and February, according to the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and Sports.

Visitor numbers rose again in March, confirming a positive trend for cultural tourism in northern Albania.

Helidon Sokoli, Director of the Regional Directorate of Cultural Heritage in Shkodër, said, “This castle leads the north in visits and ranks among the top sites nationwide. Visitor numbers keep growing in March.”

The Directorate is improving roads and renovating interior spaces as part of a project approved by the National Council for Cultural Heritage. Workers will start the project this spring.

Sokoli added, “The project focuses on infrastructure. It will boost Shkodër Castle as a tourist attraction.”

In 2025, almost 179,000 domestic and international visitors explored the site, proving that Shkodër attracts tourists for both history and culture.
