Albania on track for sustained economic growth, revenues to rise about 32% of GDP by 2030

TIRANA, March 22 – Prime Minister Edi Rama said Albania continues steady economic growth, positioning the country among the top-performing economies, according to international financial institutions.
In the 11th episode of the sixth season of his podcast “Flasim” [Let’s Talk], Rama said Albania expects significant economic expansion in the coming years.
“By 2030, Albania’s revenues are expected to rise by around 32% of GDP, placing us among the main group of economies with the most stable and highest growth, always according to international organizations, not just the Albanian government,” Rama said.
The prime minister stressed that this progress is not accidental but results from reforms implemented over the years.
“This growth is no accident. It rests on the foundations we opened and strengthened with our bold, long-awaited reforms, which placed the country in a position to move forward quickly,” Rama noted.
He added that economic growth relies on sectors under continuous development, while one of the most tangible effects is rising wages.
“What is most tangible in this growth process is the continuous increase in wages, not only in the public sector but now also in the private sector, especially for those with specific qualifications or skilled trades,” he said.
Rama described this development as an invitation for Albanians living abroad to consider returning home, highlighting that the country today offers more opportunities in terms of both the economy and quality of life.
“This is also a call for all Albanians abroad to view the possibility of returning with optimism, as Albania today offers more than the countries where they live. Beyond work and salary, it also offers the warmth of home,” the prime minister said.
