Ibrahimaj: Economic growth reaches 3.8% in Q4 2025, above EU and regional averages

Minister of Economy and Innovation Delina Ibrahimaj said that Albania’s economy showed strong performance in the fourth quarter of 2025. It outpaced both regional and European averages.

At a press conference, she noted that economic growth reached 3.8%. In comparison, the European Union averaged 1.4%, while the Western Balkans averaged 3%. As a result, Albania performed better than both benchmarks.

She also compared regional results. Kosovo grew by 3.9%. North Macedonia reached 3.8%. Serbia recorded 2.2%, while Montenegro stood at 1.5%. Meanwhile, several EU countries posted lower growth. Italy recorded 0.4%, Greece 2.3%, Germany 0.2%, France 0.9%, and Croatia 2.5%.

Furthermore, Ibrahimaj said that Albania maintained a steady growth trend throughout the year. She added that the services sector mainly drove this performance.

In addition, construction made the largest contribution. It added 1.17 percentage points to growth. Public administration, education, and health followed. Together, they contributed 1.02 percentage points.

Moreover, real estate activities added 0.32 percentage points. Trade, transport, and accommodation contributed 0.22 percentage points.

She also highlighted other positive sectors. These included construction, public services, education, health, finance, and insurance. Likewise, trade, arts, entertainment, and recreation also performed well.

However, not all sectors grew. The information and communication sector showed a negative performance. Within this sector, IT services grew by 1.43%. Still, declines in telecommunications and marketing led to an overall drop.
