“Inkandeshente” is the exhibition by Bashkim Dervishi currently on display at the FAB gallery

Last night in Tirana, the solo exhibition of painter Bashkim Dervishi was inaugurated. Titled “Inkandeshente,” the exhibition is held at the Gallery of the Faculty of Fine Arts (FAB) and will be open until October 5.
The curator of “Inkandeshente,” Ardian Isufi, writes that Bashkim Dervishi pays homage to “Woman,” celebrating her magic, fragility, and the invisible strength she embodies in liminal spaces—somewhere in everyday life and at the threshold of art history.
“He is the postmodern Adam following Eve in the garden of his art, presenting not merely naked female figures but stripping away history itself,” states curator Assoc. Prof. Dr. Isufi.
According to him, “Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa” becomes more potent and alluring in Dervishi’s “Nudo/Mona Lisa,” while “Our Sister” by Idromeno gains the essence of feminine fragility in the concealed nudity of Dervishi’s “Our Sister.”
The ambiguity of images derived from the same source is a clear artistic concept and state for Dervishi, as he analyzes how images from popular culture influence our daily lives—a notion emphasized by Andy Warhol, who stated, “I started to repeat the same image because I like how repetition changes the same image.”
Bashkim Dervishi himself expressed that each brushstroke is akin to painting an inner light, a spiritual incandescence.
