TIRANA, March 31 – The cruise ship Sapphire Princess arrived at Saranda port early Tuesday with 2,776 passengers. Most come from the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Spain. Visitors from other European and Asian countries also form part of the group.

After disembarking, tourists will travel in organised groups to nearby cultural, historical, and natural sites. Key stops include Butrint, Lëkurës Castle, Gjirokastër, Përmet, and Tepelena. Authorities said the itinerary highlights Albania’s heritage and encourages repeat visits.

Saranda continues to attract cruise ships and tourists year-round. The city welcomes thousands of domestic and foreign visitors every year. Its crystal-clear waters, Mediterranean climate, and historic landmarks make it an ideal destination for leisure and sightseeing.

Prominent attractions include Lëkurës Castle, Monastery of the 40 Saints, Butrint National Park (UNESCO), and the white-sand beaches of Ksamil. Officials expect continued cruise traffic to boost local businesses and reinforce Saranda’s role as a key hub for maritime tourism.
