On September 10, 11, and 12, Tirana will host the third edition of the “Gjon Mili Jazz & Blues Festival,” organized by RIAS in collaboration with the National Youth Congress and supported by Tirana Municipality, MEKI, and other organizations.
The first night will take place in the “Avni Mula” hall at “Servete Maçi” school, while the other days of the festival, depending on weather conditions, will be held at the Reja – The Cloud installation. The festival will feature a diverse musical program with performances by six musical groups and thirty renowned and emerging musicians from Albania and abroad.
Among the special guests this year are “Roaring Cats” from the Netherlands, “Barista 3” from Austria, and “Roberto Tarenzi Trio” from Italy.
A key focus of this edition is the promotion of new talents, with performances by groups such as “AJS Quartet,” “Elona Islamaj Trio,” and “UART Combo,” students from the new “Jazz Music” department at the University of Arts.
The third night will be dedicated to the renowned Italian-American composer Harry Warren, with renditions of some of his most famous songs, highlighting his connection to Albanian heritage.
The Gjon Mili Jazz & Blues Festival aims to promote jazz and blues music and to foster artistic activity and creativity among both Albanian and international musicians.
