TIRANA, May 21 – The outlet “Travel News” listed the Albanian Riviera among Europe’s hottest summer destinations for 2026. It also asked why hidden corners of Europe have become a smart choice for summer holidays. Meanwhile, “Travel News” selected several alternative “secret” destinations in Europe, including Albania and Montenegro, as recommended travel options for this summer. It said travel experts increasingly highlight short-haul European destinations that combine sun, culture, and affordability.

In addition, the report referred to rising uncertainty linked to some long-haul travel routes. It said more British tourists are reconsidering alternative summer options. At the same time, travel expert Clarissa Cappelletti, regional international manager at group travel company “WeRoad”, recommended short European trips over traditional summer destinations. She said Albania is similar to Greece. She said travelers can enjoy island-style trips without crowds of visitors.

The Albanian Riviera stood out as a key highlighted destination. The report said Albania is increasingly appearing on the tourist radar and sits alongside other Mediterranean destinations. It said the Albanian Riviera offers turquoise waters, dramatic mountain landscapes, and affordable coastal towns. It added that visitors can enjoy quiet beaches, boating, and hiking in nature. It also said the country offers both adventure and culture. Finally, “Travel News” ranked Albania among several European destinations, including Portugal, Montenegro, Italy, and Romania.
