Opera Theater and director Voshtina honored with “Puccini” award

Paolo Spadaccini, president of the board of the “Festival Puccini di Torre del Lago,” praised the Albanian National Theatre of Opera and Ballet (ANTOB) and honored the general director of ANTOB, Abigeila Voshtina, as an ambassador of Puccinian art to the world, on the 100th anniversary of the death of the genius from Torre del Lago.
Spadaccini presented the most prestigious award of the “Festival Puccini,” appreciating the collaboration between the two theaters to promote not only the name of the great Italian composer Puccini but also the productions of the “Festival Puccini di Torre del Lago,” which have been staged at ANTOB.
This recognition comes at an important moment for ANTOB, coinciding with the 70th anniversary of the establishment of this emblematic institution of Albanian art.
This is the first time our theater has been recognized by another foreign theater with the unique “Puccini” award, given once a year. The recognition of ANTOB also coincides with the 70th anniversary of the creation of the “Festival Puccini.”
The award ceremony took place on the stage of ANTOB, just before the performance of the opera “Madam Butterfly,” a production precisely realized by the “Festival Puccini” in Torre del Lago.
