Celebrations and preparations have begun for the International Museum Day, which falls on May 18th, aiming to draw more attention to these institutions of art, culture, and heritage.

In light of this, the Minister of Economy, Culture, and Innovation, Blendi Gonxhja shared on social media a list of institutions where activities will take place tomorrow evening.

“On the Night of Museums, May 18, in an evening full of color and music, together with the Tirana University of Arts and with the support of the Municipalities of Shkodër, Durrës, Kruja, Korça, Fier, and Berat,” Minister Gonxhja wrote, listing the participating institutions: the National Museum “George Kastrioti Skanderbeg” in Kruja; the National Museum of Medieval Art in Korça; the National Iconographic Museum “Onufri” in Berat; the National Museum of Photography “Marubi” in Shkodër; the Venetian Tower in Durrës; the Apollonia Archaeological Museum; the National Museum “House of Leaves” in Tirana.

Unlike other days of the year, on May 18th, museums will remain open to visitors until 10:00 PM, and entry is free.
