International Art Symposium/Foreign painters meet in Kolonja to promote tourist destinations

Over 20 local and international painters convened at an art symposium with the aim of bringing spring into Kolonja, one of the wellknown regions of Albania. Guided by the esteemed artist Helidon Haliti, the artists stayed in Kolonja for four days, capturing various scenes through their brushes, which were later showcased in the concluding exhibition of the symposium.
“We have artists hailing from distant corners such as Peru, Canada, Turkey, Bulgaria, North Macedonia, and of course, our Albanian talents. Here, they’ve not only left their mark on canvas but also woven a kind of historic narrative, discovering each other’s essence beyond mere colors and strokes, delving into a shared philosophical language that transcends generations,” declared Haliti. The participating artists were amazed by the landscapes of Kolonja, seeing the influx of renowned painters as a promotion to the region’s natural beauty.
“Your land is truly blessed by the divine, it’s simply marvelous. These gatherings hold immense significance as they acquaint us with an Albania often obscured by the demands of everyday life,” said painter Fatmir Juka.
“It is the first time I come to Albania, a fantastic country, I am enjoying myself here. I met many good and talented artists, above all collaborators. Here I was lured by the field of Kolonja and I am enjoying it in my own way”, says painter Jorge Corpuna.
The group of foreign and Albanian painters, part of the international association of watercolorists under the leadership of the painter Helidon Haliti, have run a series of activities during the month of May, organizing painting excursions in the most beautiful places of Albania in order to promote them.
