Editorial board meetings for the Albanian Encyclopedia, convened by discipline in Tirana and Prishtina, were recently conducted at the Academy of Sciences. Attendees included members from both Tirana and Prishtina editorial boards.

The primary objective of these gatherings was to eliminate redundancies by May 25 and achieve a standardized lexicon for the Albanian Encyclopedia. Despite the distinct editorial boards, this initiative aims to create a singular compendium with a unified list of encyclopedia entries.

The unified lexicon facilitates consistent parameters and guidelines throughout implementation, without impeding the principle of territoriality in work allocation. Additionally, it will incorporate, categorized by fields, the list of encyclopedia entries proposed by the Albanian Heritage Special Editorial Board in North Macedonia.

This comprehensive list provides a holistic understanding of the interrelations and the anticipated scope of the Albanian Encyclopedia, comprising no more than 10,000 articles. These interrelations will help evaluate whether further refinement is necessary or if there is room for expansion, recognizing the inherent constraints of encyclopedic structure.

The series of meetings and deliberations among editorial boards, grouped by closely related subjects, will continue until May 25, 2024. Transitioning from integrated to stabilized vocabulary will occur throughout June.
