Treasures of Albania TV series – Illyrian city of Bylis on British TV Channel 4

“The treasures of Albania” stands as the title of the forthcoming documentary made by Bettany Hughes, set to be premiered in this country on the Great Britain Channel 4. This announcement was made by Minister of Tourism and Environment, Mirela Kumbaro, who took to social platforms to tease excerpts from Hughes’ cinematic exploration.

“In her latest narrative journey through Albania, esteemed British scholar Bettany Hughes transports viewers to the legendary Illyrian city of Bylis,” articulated Kumbaro. The minister further disclosed that on Saturday, May 11, at 7:00 p.m., Channel 4 will unveil the historical and archaeological splendors of Albania to a vast audience, embarking on a captivating voyage across Illyrian territories.

Hughes’ previous work, “Wonders of Albania,” showcased the nation’s allure, traversing from resplendent Roman cities to the archaeology of the Early Middle Ages, and from the treasures of Ottoman civilization to the stark remnants of communist bunkers. Notably, last April saw the premiere of yet another promotional documentary spotlighting Albania’s tourism gems, titled “Discovering the Treasures of Albania.” In this production, Professor Bettany Hughes not only illuminates the landscapes and landmarks but delves into the essence of Albania’s spirit, history, and profound hospitality.

In recent years, Albania has seized the media spotlight as an emerging destination brimming with natural splendor and untapped tourism potential. Revered as one of Europe’s hidden gems, Albania beckons travelers from across the globe, enticed not only by its stunning coastline but also by its rich tapestry of culture and history.
