The editorial board meeting of “The History of Albanians” was held at the Albanian Academy of Sciences under the chair of Academician Skënder Gjinushi, in the framework of periodic reports on the current state of the project “The History of Albanians,” expected to be completed as a scientific work within 2024.

Attending the meeting were the editors-in-chief of major historical periods: Prof. Dr. Neritan Ceka (Antiquity); Academician Pëllumb Xhufi (Medieval period); Prof. Dr. Ferit Duka (period from the late Middle Ages to the 20th century); and Prof. Dr. Paskal Milo (contemporary history).

The editors-in-chief announced that the first two volumes of “The History of Albanians” will be ready for publication by the end of December 2024 and will be ready for publication during 2025. The third volume will also be completed as a draft by the end of this year, though its publishing is scheduled for mid-2025. The fourth volume, belonging to the contemporary period, will also be completed during 2025 (including scientific, linguistic, literary, and technical editing).

During this meeting, apart from the calendar, discussions were also held on the academic writing consistency across all four volumes, smooth transition from one period to another and from one volume to another, etc.

Academician Gjinushi emphasized the importance of ensuring that the work, despite the presence of multiple authors and styles, should have a structured and cohesive form as a whole, and moments of inconsistency should not be allowed.
