The National Museum Center of Berat announced that during Orthodox Easter weekend, the Iconographic Museum “Onufri” will remain open, serving as the most meaningful cultural destination in the context of this festival that brings together Albanians of all faiths.

Berat is unique as a city because it preserves within its urban space 3 churches from the Byzantine Period, cathedrals, and churches with extraordinary artistic wealth, which during this Orthodox Easter celebration week take on a special spiritual significance.

The National Museum Center of Berat stated that in the following days, they will publish treasures of iconographic art from the “Onufri” Museum that focus on biblical scenes related to the celebration of Easter.

We are currently in the great week of Orthodox Easter, which will culminate with Easter Sunday, the day of resurrection, when life triumphs over death, and symbolically believers break the red eggs.
