Swedish Ambassador Niklas Ström had a meeting on Saturday with Albanian singer Besa Kokëdhima, this year’s representative in Eurovision Song Contest, greeting and wishing her well before her departure to Sweden.

Besa Kokëdhima and Ambassador Ström talked about the success of Swedish music worldwide through groups like ABBA, Roxette, and artists such as Zara Larsson, among many others, as well as the differences and similarities between the Albanian and Swedish music scenes.

Ambassador Ström reiterated that music is a unifying force throughout the world, emphasizing increase of exchanges between Swedish and Albanian artists.

“Music serves as one of the best ways to unite people globally, and the Eurovision Festival stands as an important unifying force. I hope you emerge as the winner of Eurovision,”Ström said to Kokëdhima.

With her song “TiTAN,” Besa Kokëdhima will take the stage on May 9th alongside representatives from 15 other countries. Besa will compete second in the second semi-final on Thursday, May 9, and we also hope to see her in the grand final on May 11.
