Albanian Minister of Tourism and Environment, Mirela Kumbaro held a meeting with the group of artists of the Folk Song and Dance Ensemble of the National Theater of Opera, Ballet and Folk Ensemble who performed at the tourism summit organized in Tirana.

The meeting took place during the summit organized in Tirana of the World Tourism Organization, where the group of artists performed dances of Albanian artistic tradition as a sign of hospitality for those present at the summit.

Minister Kumbaro says that the performance of the artists was a more beautiful picture of Albanian tourist offer, which is related to cultural heritage.

“With nostalgia I meet members from the group of artists of the Folk Song and Dance Ensemble of the National Theater of Opera, Ballet and Folk Ensemble who honored us with their art at the summit of the World Tourism Organization in Tirana unfolding one of the most beautiful scenes of our tourist offer, that of the cultural heritage of the Albanian spirit,” wrote Kumbaro.

Tirana hosted the 70th meeting of the Commission for Europe of the World Tourism Organization that took place for the first time in Albania, bringing together 40 high-level representatives from the countries of the continent. During the meeting, the Commission for Europe of WTO approved the Tourism Agenda for 2024, manifesting the priorities of Europe as the main destination in the world and a pioneer in tourism innovation, while Albania is confirmed as the destination with the greatest increase in tourist flows.

Europe’s national tourism authorities met in Tirana to advance common solutions for the biggest challenges facing tourism, as well as the opportunities offered by the return of the sector after the pandemic.

With the participation of almost all UN tourism members in the region, the meeting served as a platform for dialogue and cooperation, providing a platform for the exchange of knowledge, the sharing of best practices and addressing the challenges and opportunities that the tourism sector faces.
