Numerous artistic and cultural activities turned the city in stone of Gjirokastër for two consecutive days, into the center of celebrations for citizens, but also local visitors and foreign tourists who had chosen it as a weekend destination.

The celebrations organized by the Municipality of Gjirokastër not only for the change of seasons on Summer Day, but as a celebration to welcome another tourist season were organized with plenty of artistic performances, various cultural events, exhibitions, handicrafts and fairs with the characteristic products of area.

The festive activities culminated with the colors of the Carnival, heralding the spring. The streets of the city echoed with the participation of school students, citizens of Gjirokastër and many tourists.

The children paraded beautifully through the characteristic bazaar in their majestically colorful costumes bringing a fantastic atmosphere catching everyone’s attention.

The Minister of Tourism and Environment, Mirela Kumbaro, the Mayor of Gjirokastër, Flamur Golemi were also at the Carnival parade, which was organized for the fourth year.

The party started on March 14 on Summer Day ended with the artistic concert of the artists Elhaida Dani, Young Zerka and Ardit Çuni.
