TIRANA, August 31 – Prime Minister Edi Rama has shared images of Gjirokastër, highlighting the transformation of the historic stone-built city and its development as one of Albania’s most visited tourist destinations.

In a social media post, Rama highlighted changes in the city over the years and the renewed attention to its historical and tourism values. He said Gjirokastër had once left many of its attractions hidden by neglect but now showcases them throughout its streets and historic quarters.

Gjirokastër forms part of the UNESCO World Heritage List and has become one of Albania’s main cultural tourism destinations in recent years. The city attracts both domestic and foreign visitors.
