The Shkodër Historical Museum is returning to tradition the development of commemorative activities in honor of the outstanding personalities of Shkodër and of the national culture. One of them was the albanologist from Shkodër, Jup Kastrati.

The “In Memoriam” meeting was organized on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of his birth and Mother Language Day. It was attended by distinguished personalities from Shkodër, among them his daughter, Diana Kastrati.

Furthermore, Diana Kastrati, at the same time head of the Center for Studies and Publications for Arbëresh, said that there is still more to discover from Jup Kastrati’s research activity.

“Such meetings serve to encourage the more in-depth studies of such personalities,” says the Head of the museum, Sokol Parmeza.

The work of Professor Jup Kastrati is considered today an invaluable heritage of Albanology. In his extensive scientific activity, he has published monographs, studies, numerous scientific articles, addressing issues of linguistic, literary, historical character and many other disciplines too.
