FM Hoxha Marks 25 Years Since 9/11, Reaffirms Albania’s Solidarity with the United States

Albanian Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Ferit Hoxha has marked the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks in the United States. He paid tribute to the victims and reaffirmed Albania’s solidarity with the American people.

In a social media statement, Hoxha remembered nearly 3,000 people who lost their lives. He also expressed solidarity with the families whose lives changed forever.

Meanwhile, Hoxha praised the courage of first responders who risked their lives to save others. He stressed that the tragedy reached far beyond the United States. Albania, he added, also felt the pain of that dark day.

Furthermore, Hoxha highlighted the strong bond between Albania and the United States. For Albanians, he said, America has been more than a friend or ally. Washington has stood beside Albania during key moments in its national journey.

The minister described the relationship as a strategic partnership based on shared values, mutual respect and lasting friendship. Despite difficult periods, he said, the ties between the two peoples have remained strong.

Moreover, Hoxha reaffirmed Albania’s commitment to fighting terrorism, violent extremism and hatred. He stressed the need for joint action to protect peace, freedom and human life.

“Albania stood with the United States on that dark day, and we will continue to stand together in defense of freedom, peace and our shared democratic values,” Hoxha said.

Finally, he concluded: “Some moments are never forgotten. Some friendships never fade. We remember. We honor. We stand together.”
