In Venice, the famous Italian city, this is the feeling conveyed by a visit to the workshop for the production of Venetian masks in Shkodër.

For entrepreneur Edmond Angoni, the masks “Made in Albania” are among the most unique in the world.

“They are unique because they are all handmade, they are objects that you put on today, but later you can keep them at home as accessories. We don’t just treat them as masks, but as works of art. We mainly cover the Venetian market where we have our own mask trading units, shops, but not only here, going everywhere in the world,” Angoni says.

Creating such a mask takes its time.

“To have a mask depends on its size, its typology since a mask goes through at least 10 to 12 manual works. The simplest would take at least three days while the complicated one goes up to three weeks,” he adds.

This workshop is also one of the tourist attractions of the city.

The diverse masks are present not only in Shkodër and Venice, but also in some of the most important countries in the world.
