Surrounded by the green landscapes of northern Albania and waters flowing toward the Adriatic Sea, the Buna River remains one of the country’s most distinctive natural treasures.

Prime Minister Edi Rama shared a video of the Buna River on social media today, highlighting the natural beauty of one of northern Albania’s most remarkable areas.

The footage showcases the river and its surrounding landscapes. It captures the area’s calm atmosphere and natural beauty, where the river, greenery and distinctive landscapes of Shkodra come together.

The Buna connects Lake Shkodra with the Adriatic Sea. It represents an important natural asset and offers strong potential for nature tourism and various recreational activities along the river.

The Buna River also forms one of Albania’s most important natural ecosystems. As part of the Buna River–Velipoja Protected Landscape, it represents a biodiversity hotspot with rich habitats for hundreds of bird, fish and plant species.

Meanwhile, visitors can enjoy various activities along the river, including boat trips and water sports such as canoeing on certain sections of the river.
