“Korça in photos”, exhibition with 800 images of the city, from the 20s to the 80s

“Korça in Photos” is the title of the exhibition by the Korça collector Mirgen Shamblli, which was opened at the Old Bazaar with photos and postcards from the city of Korça. Rare images of the city date back from the 1920s to the 1980s.

Around 800 photos taken over the years depict the city and life within it, capturing views and some of the buildings that no longer exist, such as the Mitropolis area, St. George, and many other objects.

This special exhibition, which will continue to be open, has sparked interest among citizens, to become acquainted with different views and to remember what Korça was like in those years. Visitors will have the opportunity to see the river and its bridges, the city center, the youth park, the cinema area, and the boulevard, St. Marina, the city’s mosques, the stadium, the market with its alleys, etc.

“Korça in Photos” will be a series of three exhibitions throughout the month of February, which will bring to light the forgotten images of the city through photographs and postcards.
