Audio guide enhances the interest of foreign visitors in the ‘Onufri’ Iconographic Museum

The Onufri Iconographic Museum has experienced a year-on-year increase in visitation. This growth can be attributed in part to technology, which has facilitated the dissemination of information about the treasures housed within the museum.
“We are delighted to observe the growing interest of visitors in the Onufri Iconographic Museum, particularly for the audio guide, which expertly complements the detailed information about the museum’s treasures that we showcase to the public,” states the Berat National Center of Museums on its website.
In 2023, the Onufri Iconographic Museum saw an increase of 1240 visitors compared to the previous year. Foreign tourists have shown a preference for visiting the museum while utilizing the audio guide service, available in Albanian, English, Italian, and German languages.
The museum’s collection comprises 200 objects carefully curated from the holdings of churches and monasteries in the Berat district. Primarily focused on icons and a selection of liturgical objects, these works range in age from the 14th century to the early 20th century.
