“The Year of Puccini”, National Opera and Ballet Theater alongside with other world theaters

The National Theater of Opera and Ballet will line up this year side by side with the most prestigious theaters of the world, which have dedicated this year to the great Italian composer, Giacomo Puccini.
On the 100th anniversary of his death, Puccini’s main works will be performed on the National Opera and Ballet Theater stage, thanks to the cooperation with the Italian “Fondazione Festival Pucciniano“, the foundation that promotes Puccini’s work in the world.
To celebrate the launch of this cooperation, the most important leaders of the “Fondazione Festival Pucciniano” have arrived in Tirana.
At the press conference, held at the National Theater of Opera and Ballet, the general director, Abigeila Voshtina, pointed out that this important cooperation helps to internationalize the Albanian theater and increase its artistic quality too.

In addition to Albanian artists, during this year dedicated to Puccini, the National Theater will also invite many other artists famous in other important theaters, or even Albanians who have built their careers in abroad.
Thanks to this cooperation, the stage and costume design for the Opera will come from Italy with the support of the “Fondazione Festival Pucciniano“.
The cooperation will begin first with the opera “Il Trittico”, an opera that includes three works within it and will be performed in one evening to involve more than 100 artists, to continue further with “La Boheme”, “Madam Butterfly” and “Tosca” and symphonic concerts with Puccini’s music.
