Mirdita, a stunning area of majestic beauty, located in the north of Albania, has not received the proper attention from local and foreign tourists for a long time. This area is known for its picturesque landscapes, rich cultural heritage, centuries-old traditions and distinctive cuisine.

The “Tourism and Travel Show” Fair, held at the Palace of Congresses from January 31 to February 1, served as an ideal platform to bring Mirdita to the attention of tourist agencies as a new destination that offers a wealth of cultural experiences.

The Albanian Center for Education, Tourism and Entrepreneurship (CEAPAL), one of the grants beneficiary organizations, supported by the EU4Culture program, organized an event called “Mirdita towards the development of sustainable tourism” within the “Tourism & Travel Show” Fair.

This activity, which brought together in a tourism development panel discussion of experts and representatives from the municipality of Mirdita, aroused great interest among tourist operators who welcomed the opportunity to propose new attractions and cultural experiences for their clients.

A performance by dancers dressed in traditional Mirdita folk costumes added a lot of color to the event. This local initiative is one of the five projects implemented in Mirdita, and supported by the EU4Culture grant program.
